Puck News reported on behind-the-scenes tension on the Apple sci-fi drama "Severance" which has apparently delayed production on Season 2.
The problems allegedly stem from a conflict between showrunners Dan Erickson and Mark Friedman.
Apparently, first-time creator Erickson and experienced veteran Friedman clashed during Season 1 as well, but executive producer Ben Stiller convinced them both to remain on the show for Season 2.
- "House of Cards" vet Beau Willimon has apparently been brought on to help right the ship.
- TVLine spoke with an unnamed insider who disputed the Puck report, insisting that season 2 remains on schedule and that Erickson, Friedman, and Willimon are all collaborating together.
- TVLine's source suggests that Willimon was brought on early to start making Season 3 plans, not to smooth out conflicts on Season 2.
- "Severance" Season 1 was a breakout hit for Apple, scoring 14 Emmy nominations.
