Q&A site Quora is now allowing users to create their own chatbots.
Examples of bots already created include poe.com/PirateBot, which talks like a pirate, and poe.com/emojis, which translates messages into emojis.
- Quora users can now create the bots, based on their own prompts, to generate text in a particular style, format, and other factors.
- The user-created bots are based on Anthropic's Claude Instant chatbot and OpenAI's ChatGPT, according to a blog post.
- Users can converse with other people's bots across all devices, including Android mobile web, desktop web, and iOS.
- Each bot is accessible from a unique URL at "poe.com/botname," allowing creators to share links to the bot with friends or on the web.
- Quora first started beta testing Poe, a platform for users to interact with various AI chatbots, in December.
