"Ziwe"

Showtime announced a number of updates to its programming line-up.

These changes come a few months after MTV Entertainment Group CEO Chris McCarthy assumed control over Showtime content, replacing former CEO David Nevins.

  • The cable network and streamer canceled the satirical late-night talk show "Ziwe" after two seasons; following the cancellation of "Desus & Mero," this leaves Showtime without a late-night chat series.
  • Showtime also ordered a series based on the comedy pilot "Seasoned"; the show will feature Mandy Patinkin and his real wife, Kathryn Grody, and is inspired by their off-screen relationship.
  • The network also canceled plans for a TV adaptation of the cult hit 1999 film "The Wood."
  • According to Variety, the thriller film "Heist 88" -- starring another real-life couple, Angela Bassett and Courtney B. Vance -- will move from Paramount+ over to Showtime.
