Star Wars Celebration updates

A number of announcements have already been made at Disney and Lucasfilm's annual Star Wars Celebration event, taking place this year in London.

Disney+ dropped the first teaser for the highly-anticipated series "Ahsoka," starring Rosario Dawson as the former Jedi padawan and Rebel leader.

  • "Ahsoka" co-stars Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger and Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, characters brought over from the animated "Star Wars" series "Rebels"; it hits Disney+ in August.
  • The second and final season of "Andor" debuts in August 2024; creator Tony Gilroy showed a brief teaser trailer that remains unavailable on the internet.
  • "The Acolyte" creator Leslye Headland also previewed that upcoming series, which is set during the High Republic era, prior to the prequel films; Amandla Stenberg and "Squid Game" vet Lee Jung-jae co-star.
  • Jude Law and Jon Favreau teased early footage from the live-action YA series "Skeleton Crew."
  • Lucasfilm chief Kathleen Kennedy also announced that new "Star Wars" films were on the way from directors James Mangold, Dave Filoni, and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy; Daisy Ridley will reprise the role of Rey Skywalker in at least one of the films.
