More than 400 people have been killed in Sudan and over 3,700 have been injured since army factions began fighting one another on April 15.
Several attempts to broker ceasefires between the Sudanese military and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have failed in recent days.

- Airstrikes in civilian areas and wanton violence between opposing fighters have plunged the capital of Khartoum into chaos.
- Water and electricity have been cut off across much of the city and basic staples are hard to find.
- Thousands of Sudanese people have fled to neighboring countries like Egypt, Chad, and South Sudan.
- The conflict stems from a power struggle between two warring generals: General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan who commands the Sudanese army and Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, who leads the RSF.
- U.S. troops successfully evacuated just under 100 diplomats and military personnel from Khartoum on Sunday.
- The EU said it has evacuated 21 diplomatic staff and over 1,000 civilians.
