Tesla has reportedly settled a lawsuit it filed against Alexander Yatskov, a former employee who the company accused of poaching trade secrets related to its AI supercomputer.
The settlement will see Yatskov make an undisclosed monetary payment to Tesla.
- Tesla originally sued Yatskov in May 2022, claiming that the former engineer stole "confidential and tightly guarded" information about the automaker's Project Dojo supercomputer.
- According to Tesla's complaint, Yatskov worked on Dojo, its neural net training computer , for several months before he was placed on administrative leave and then resigned.
- When Yatskov was confronted, Tesla claimed he presented a "dummy" computer for inspection.
- In his defense, Yatskov said he did transfer some confidential information from Tesla to his personal computer while he was employed but had planned to delete it later.
- Further terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
