A team from Princeton University and the IE School of Architecture and Design is constructing a vaulted pavilion with AI, holograms, and AR at IE University's campus in Segovia, Spain.

The team is led by Syrian-Spanish architect and IE architecture professor Wesam Al Asali and Sigrid Adriaenssens, director of the Form Finding Lab at Princeton University.

The pavilion adopts a 10-foot-tall tripod structure that measures 16 feet long and 10 feet wide.

    • AR glasses and Microsoft's HoloLens app will guide the bricklaying process to ensure the exact placement of bricks.
    • The team hopes that this project will encourage other architects and designers to explore the potential of technology in the construction industry.
    • Combining locally sourced materials and technology to minimize waste supports the New European Bauhaus Initiative and the UN SDGs.
