Amazon plans to develop generative AI features for Alexa, its virtual assistant service.   The e-commerce giant is seeking new ways to monetize Alexa's massive user base as it works to cut costs. Amazon plans to revamp the large language model (LLM) underlying Alexa, reports Insider citing a leaked document. The company is focusing on making Alexa's video search and personal recommendations more conversational. The leaked document also described plans to develop storytelling and news-reading capabilities for Alexa. Amazon may partner with companies including Disney and Lego in a bid to improve Alexa's storytelling capabilities.
