The International Women's Podcast Festival will not take place this year, organizers announced. It has been postponed with hopes of resuming next year due to a lack of support and funding. - The
festival's organizer, Content is Queen, said in a statement that it was
disappointed by the lack of backing the festival had received but
wasn't surprised as, across the landscape, podcast events have been
postponed or canceled.
- "Unfortunately, we depend on the
industry to financially support the festival, and the industry and our
partners, I guess, had different priorities or conflicting needs at this
time," Content is Queen founder Imriel Morgan said in a video posted to Twitter.
- Content
is Queen says that the postponement of the festival will not diminish
the call for inclusivity in podcasting and working to make sure women's
voices are heard.
