LiveOne has entered into a letter of intent to acquire certain assets of the Los Angeles-based podcast network Kast Media. The deal will move Kast Media's weekly podcasts and move them to LiveOne's PodcastOne platform. - Through the deal, Kast Media will be able to continue to expand its original owned content slate.
- If the deal goes through, it is expected to increase LiveOne's annual consolidated revenue by over $10M.
- "LiveOne
has long admired Kast Media's roster of top-notch podcast programming,
their host talent, and their development in IP," said LiveOne Chairman
and CEO Robert Ellin. "Through this collaboration with Colin and his
team, we expect to deliver a slate of original programming with an eye
toward second window TV."
- Kast Media has been around since
2016, and they already have TV development deals in place for podcasts
that have not launched yet, which was a selling point for LiveOne.
