Media and distribution company Cinedigm has rebranded as Cineverse, to reflect its new focus on streaming.
The company originally sold cinema equipment and technology, but has shifted over to investments in content over the last decade, and now controls a library of around 60,000 film and TV titles.
- In addition to its flagship streaming service, now also named Cineverse, the company owns the Fandor, Dove, and CONtv streaming services and channels.
- CEO Chris McGurk has prior experience as an executive for MGM, Universal, and Disney.
- Cineverse is currently the world's sixth-largest streaming platform, with over 22,000 titles; that's a larger library -- the company claims -- than Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, or Paramount+.
- Cineverse is a public company; shares currently trade at around 29 cents.
