Microsoft has now
dropped the waitlist
for its AI-powered Bing search engine.
People can now use the chat service in an open preview by signing into Bing on Microsoft's Edge browser or the Bing mobile apps on
Google Play
and
Apple's App Store
.
- Bing, powered by OpenAI's GPT-4, was previously in a limited preview that required signing up on a waitlist.
-
Microsoft has now added new features to the chatbot service, including a Bing Image Creator powered by OpenAI's DALL-E.
-
A new Actions feature in Bing Chat and Edge allows users to complete tasks without leaving sites. The feature, which supports things like restaurant bookings and movie searches, works through the chat
interface.
- Additionally, Bing Chat will include richer visual answers through image and video search results and chat history that allows users to continue conversations across devices.
- Microsoft also plans to add export and share features to Bing Chat and is working on multi-modal support, which would enable users to upload images for their content searches.
-
Bing now draws over 100 million daily active users daily,
according to
Yusuf Mehdi, a VP at Microsoft overseeing its AI initiatives.
