Retention Brands acquired Birchbox's assets.  Birchbox, a makeup subscription firm, is owned by FemTec Health, which is currently winding down its business. FemTec solicited a financial consulting firm to help it sell "non-core" and "underperforming" assets. The company sold its other assets to Awesome Health. Birchbox customers have complained about unfulfilled orders, and vendors have gone unpaid since the business was acquired by FemTec. Birchbox's new owner, Retention Brands, invests in e-commerce and subscription commerce businesses.
