Amazon aims to use AI to improve the search capabilities on its e-commerce site.  The company is seeking staff to carry out the project, which will focus on developing conversational capabilities. Amazon posted a job offer seeking a senior software development engineer who can help with "reimagining Amazon Search with an interactive conversational experience." A second job posting called for applicants who can "reinvent the way we do search" as part of a new "AI-first initiative." Over half of U.S. customers currently start their shopping journeys on Amazon, a higher share than those who begin on Google. Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced generative AI services in April that are yet to be released.
