Amazon drivers strike in California

 

Eighty-four drivers and dispatchers walked out of a distribution facility belonging to Battle-Tested Strategies (BTS).  BTS is an Amazon delivery service partner based in Palmdale, California. Workers at BTS unionized with Teamsters Local 396 in Los Angeles in April. The Teamsters claim that Amazon controls BTS and should negotiate with the union. Amazon said it does not need to participate in negotiations because the workers are employed by BTS. The walkout marks the first strike by Amazon drivers in the U.S.
