U.S. retail sales increased in May. 

The overall increase comes after retail sales rose 1.4% YoY in April.

Core sales rose 4.4% YoY and were up 0.4% from April.

  • The sales data compiled by the National Retail Federation excludes car dealers, gasoline stations, and restaurants.
  • Online and other non-store sales in the U.S. were up 8.7% unadjusted YoY.
  • Sales at electronics and appliance stores fell by 4.1% unadjusted YoY.
