Apple is seeking experts in generative AI

Apple is seeking experts in generative AI to work on advanced technologies, including mixed reality, according to new job listings.

One post, highlighted by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, seeks machine learning engineers with a background and/or interest in generative and conversational AI.

According to the listing, the ML engineers will use models to build apps on top of Apple's advanced tech while developing their skills in augmented and virtual reality.

  • According to Gurman, this may suggest Apple is working on an "on-device way" to develop AR/VR apps on Apple's forthcoming mixed-reality headset.
  • Apple has already been actively hiring experts in generative AI, focusing on building autonomous systems and visual generative modeling.

It's believed Apple will unveil the mixed-reality headset at its WWDC keynote on Monday, June 5.

  • The high-end device will be able to switch between augmented and virtual reality and possibly allow users to create their own apps using Siri.
