During a keynote at a Canadian media conference, CBS President and CEO George Cheeks gave some insight into the network's planning for the fall TV season. CBS unveiled a tentative fall line-up in May that didn't yet factor in an ongoing writers strike, let alone a potential SAG-AFTRA action. According to Cheeks, CBS is likely to launch a "reality-heavy" line-up centered around the "Big Brother" franchise, which returns in August. - The network is also planning more primetime game show specials, including fresh installments of "The Price is Right" and "Let's Make a Deal."
- Some Paramount+ originals -- including "SEAL Team" and "Evil," both of which started life as CBS programs -- could move back to the network as well; CBS employed a similar strategy in 2020, when it aired the CBS All Access original "Star Trek: Discovery" on the flagship network.
- CBS also extended late-night host Stephen Colbert's deal through 2026.
