Grubhub lays off workers

Grubhub will lay off 400 employees.

CEO Howard Migdal announced the plan in a letter that cited rising operating costs.

The layoffs will reduce Grubhub's headcount by 15%.

  • Employees were to be told on June 12 if the cuts affect them.
  • Migdal noted that the company had grown larger than its pre-pandemic size in 2019.
  • Grubhub controls a 9% share of the U.S. meal delivery market, according to Bloomberg.
