According to internal data from Warner Bros. Discovery, 70% of HBO Max subscribers switched over to the new Max platform in its first week post-launch. 

WBD's president of global streaming, JB Perrette, told The Wall Street Journal that the transition is "exceeding expectations" in terms of hours viewed per subscriber and content consumed since launch.

Max brings together content from the former HBO Max platform and Discovery+; it went live in the US on May 23.

  • Around 2.9 million people watched the series finale of "Succession" last week across both the HBO cable network and Max.
  • According to Perrette, the remaining customers who have not switched over will be prompted to do so the next time they open HBO Max.
