Season 3 of "The Witcher" -- the final season to feature Henry Cavill in the lead role as Geralt of Rivia -- hits Netflix on June 29. The season will be divided into two halves; Volume 2 arrives less than one month after Volume 1, on July 27. Liam Hemsworth will take over the lead role of Geralt in Season 4 next year. - Volume 1 of Season 3 consists of five episodes, while Volume 2 will close out the action with three additional installments.
- The new season apparently involves the central characters -- monster hunter Geralt, the fugitive princess Ciri (Freya Allan), and the powerful sorceress Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) -- growing closer together and discovering that "family is worth fighting for."
- "The Witcher" is based on novels and stories by author Andrzej Sapkowski, which have also been adapted into a popular series of video games.
