Viaplay Group CEO Anders Jensen announced his immediate departure from the company after five years.

He'll be replaced by Jorgen Madsen Lindemann, the former CEO of Viaplay's parent company, MTG.

Jensen's exit comes on the heels of Viaplay's disappointing Q2 earnings, which saw ad revenues drop between 12-16%.

  • The company cited slumping Scandinavian TV and radio advertising rates, and lower demand for for content in both the Nordic and international streaming marketplace.
  • Viaplay has recently rolled out its streaming service in both the US and the UK, and has been ramping up production of original content.
