Hocus Pocus

 

Disney is developing a third film in the "Hocus Pocus" series following the success of "Hocus Pocus 2" on Disney+.  According to Nielsen, the long-awaited Halloween comedy sequel was viewed for 2.7 billion minutes in its first week in October 2022, a record for any original streaming film. The "Hocus Pocus" films are set in the town of Salem, and co-star Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker as the villainous, child-hunting witches, the Sanderson Sisters. The first film was released in 1993 and directed by future "High School Musical" mastermind Kenny Ortega; while not a box office hit, it developed a cult following on cable and home video. Midler first mused about returning for a third film while promoting the sequel, saying "I'd love to have a franchise - especially a character I love playing."
