The California Court of Appeal has ruled that employers, including IBM, are obliged to reimburse employees for business expenses incurred while working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic, overturning a previous decision by the trial court. The court ruled that the expenses, which resulted from the performance of the employee's duties, were covered under section 2802(a) of California's Labor Code, despite the argument that the expenses were caused by government orders, not direct orders from the employer. |
