Amazon expects to have more automated robots than human workers by 2030, according to Cathie Wood, CEO of Ark Invest.

By 2021, Amazon had 1.6 million workers.

  • According to Wood, "for every cumulative doubling in the number of robots produced, the cost declines are in the 50-60% range."
  • AI and battery technology will fuel the movement toward automation.
  • Woods expects that automation will reach the entire manufacturing sector, not only tech companies.
  • Even after Amazon announced 18,000 layoffs, the company has more workers than it did before the pandemic.
