Elon Musk said he would likely appoint a new Twitter CEO toward the end of this year.
Musk said he will remain in the position as he needs to "stabilize the organization and just make sure it’s in a financially healthy place and that the product road map is clearly laid out."
- Speaking at the World Government Summit in Dubai, Musk said he believes Twitter will be in a "stable position" by the end of 2023.
- The CEO has not indicated who his successor may be.
- His comments come after Musk conducted an online poll in December, asking his follower whether he should step down as Twitter CEO.
- 57.5% of the more than 17 million respondents said Musk should resign.
- Shortly after acquiring Twitter in late October for $44B, Musk told a court that he expected to reduce his time at the helm and would find someone else to run the company.
