Fanatics has hired Nick Bell, the former product leader at Google and former Vice President of content at Snap, as its new CEO of live-streamed shopping.

While live-streamed shopping is not yet a primary driver of e-commerce sales in the U.S., it has become more popular recently due to investments by TikTok and Walmart.

  • Fanatics believes it can use its internal database of 90 million sports fans to launch live-streamed shopping.
  • In 2022, Fanatics acquired Topps Co's memorabilia division which will be heavily integrated into its new live-streamed shopping offerings.
  • Nick Bell will be reporting directly to Mike Mahan, the CEO of Fanatic's collectibles division.
  • Fanatics has also recently hired Jason White as its head of marketing for sports gambling and Greg Abovksy as CFO of its collectibles business.
