Finnish cloud data infrastructure startup Aiven recently debuted Aiven for Apache Flink, a fully managed streaming SQL engine for accelerated event processing and rapid data transfer.
This new offering is helping organizations transition away from batch processing towards faster stream processing.
- Batch processing involves collecting a “batch” of information over time, which is then fed into an analytics system for processing. Stream processing provides analytics results in real-time by feeding data into analytics tools the moment it is generated.
- According to the company website, Aiven for Apache Flink enables developers to perform real-time filtering, enriching, aggregation, alerting, and analysis of events.
- Aiven claims Apache Flink allows developers to build applications solely by using SQL language with no coding required.
- The new real-time data stream processing platform is generally available on Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure.
