Four Indian astronauts will soon receive virtual reality, augmented reality, and mixed reality training under development by the Indian Institute of Technology Madras and the Indian Space Research Organisation.

former Indian Air Force test pilots will be prepared for India's space
mission,n "Gaganyaan," or the human spaceflight program.
- A key goal is the ability to simulate space emergencies and train astronauts to face them.

CAVE consortium, with more than 270 Indian startups and companies in VR
and haptics, will be responsible for the implementation.
- Simulations will check how the human body reacts to harsh conditions in orbit.
- Current data is based on Caucasian astronauts and not Indians.
- IIT Madras has already contributed to ISRO's program, including the human spaceflight program.
