Guinness became the best-selling beer in British pubs, restaurants, and nightclubs for the first time in the second half of 2022.
Diageo, its parent company's fiscal first-half results revealed Guinness surpassed Carling lager as the number one pint in British pubs in terms of sales value.
- The Irish stout reportedly accounts for one in every nine pints in London.
- According to Diageo's CFO, Guinness is still growing strongly "due to the brand continuing to resonate."
- Guinness also showed strong performance across Europe, and Diageo's CEO Ivan Menezes said he "never believed" he'd see this day.
