Canadian Markets Recreational marijuana company Canopy Growth plans to restructure its Canadian operations to reduce costs. The company will cut approximately 35% of its workforce, or 800 employees, and reduce its cannabis cultivation and production businesses.  It will cut the number of products it sells in Canada by 50% to focus on high-margin products, including flower, pre-rolls, soft gels, and oils. Commodities Oil prices fell on Thursday and early on Friday morning. Brent crude was down 0.7% and US West Texas Intermediate was down 0.5% on Thursday.  Stronger demand for oil in China continues to provide upward pressure on prices but not enough to lift prices up.  The destructive earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria sent oil prices up this week amid fears that the devastation would disrupt oil supplies. Concerns about more interest rate hikes also put upward pressure on prices in recent days. Both Brent and U.S. West Texas Intermediate have gained approximately 5% this week.
