Meta will make generative AI a priority in the coming year, according to CEO Mark Zuckerberg. 

 The CEO touted the benefits of the AI technology during an investor call on Wednesday when the company released its fourth-quarter earnings.


  • Zuckerberg said one of his goals is to build on Meta's research so it can "become a leader in generative AI."
  • He said Meta can utilize AI to generate things like images, videos, and 3D assets and incorporate that into consumer products.
  • "Generative AI is an extremely exciting new area with so many different applications," Zuckerberg said
  • The CEO said Meta will continue making cuts this year after reporting a revenue dip in its fourth-quarter earnings.
  • Meta reported $32.2B in revenue, down 4% from the year earlier and its third straight quarterly drop in sales.
  • In November, Meta cut 11,000 jobs or 13% of its workforce.
