Microsoft debuts AI Bing and Edge mobile apps

Microsoft announced new Bing and Edge mobile apps that include its new chatbot and other AI-powered features.

As of today, users that were granted access to the Bing AI beta should have the "AI Copilot" features available on iOS and Android.

The new Bing mobile app now lets users start chat sessions to ask questions and receive answers from the AI model, the same as the desktop version.

  • The AI will generate answers by text, bullet points, or simplified responses.
  • The new app also lets users use their voice to talk to the chatbot.
  • It uses text-to-speech technology to dictate the answers back to the user.
  • This voice search is also available on Bing for desktop.
  • In addition, people with preview access can access the new Bing from the Edge mobile app homepage, according to Microsoft.

In addition, Microsoft today debuted its AI-powered Bing for Skype.

  • On the communications platform, the Bing chatbot is available for one-on-one or group conversations.
  • The AI technology can also translate between over 100 languages in Skype.
