Poland's competition watchdog declared that Amazon conducts misleading sales and delivery practices.
The Office
of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) said users are misled
about when a sales contract is concluded, what the product availability
is, delivery times, and what their consumer rights are.
- If UOKiK is able to prove the accusations, Amazon EU could be fined up to 10% of its turnover.
- Amazon publicly declared it follows all Polish legal requirements.
- UOKiK
argues that Amazon does not explicitly say that the product
availability and delivery speeds on its website are estimates.
- Thus, consumers do not have the complete information they should have to decide whether to complete a purchase or not.
