TikTok continues outperforming other social media platforms as Rival IQ's Social Media Industry Benchmark Report shows it had a 5.69% engagement rate per post.
This engagement is significantly higher than competitors — Instagram has an engagement rate of 0.47% per post.
Engagement on Facebook and Twitter remained low at 0.060% and 0.035%, respectively.
- The frequency of posts on Twitter and Facebook was down by more than 20% in 2022 to 3.9 posts per week on Twitter and 5 posts per week on Facebook on average.
- The data comes from 2,100 companies split evenly, with 150 companies from 14 industries. Each company had between 25,000 and 1 million Facebook followers and at least 5,000 followers on Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok.
- The survey also showed that each platform had different engagement levels based on the industry — influencers performed best on Facebook, sports teams performed best on Twitter and Instagram while higher education content performed best on TikTok.
