U. of Michigan adds XR to online courses

 

The University of Michigan's Center for Academic Innovation has teamed up with the Coursera platform to integrate XR technologies into its online course offerings to create an "immersive and impactful" learning experience. 

 Accessible online via the learning platform Coursera, the future courses will include XR technologies such as VR, AR, and virtual production, according to a university press release


  • Three courses that include environments filmed in 360 degrees have been launched on the Coursera platform.
  • Students can interact with the environments using a desktop PC, cellphone, or headset.
  • The university plans to launch 10 courses by mid-2023 focusing on leadership, educational course design, nursing education, mindfulness, and negotiation.
