A Swedish member of Parliament saved a baby from drowning on Monday.
Adnan
Dibrani, a member of Sweden's Social Democratic Party, helped rescue
the infant from a river while on a political mission in Montenegro.
- Dibrani
traveled to Montenegro's capital city of Podgorica on Monday to monitor
the country's presidential election with the Council of Europe.
- When
he went for a walk with a colleague he saw a woman floating down the
river with her head under the water. The woman appeared to be holding
something resembling a doll, Dibrani later said.
- He urged passers-by to call emergency services before several people rushed to the shore.
- They picked up the baby and Dibrani performed CPR in a bid to get him breathing.
- The two-month-old boy opened his eyes and began making sounds in Dibrani's arms before he handed it off to first responders.
- The woman floating in the river was the baby's grandmother, who unfortunately could not be saved.
