Bose is launching a new initiative to try and reduce the gender disparity in the music production industry.
The initiative will be launched in collaboration with the non-profit organization She Is The Music.
- The
initiative will include the creation of a board with musicians, A&R
executives, and producers who will be working to build a pipeline to
support young women.
- The inspiration for the initiative was
the statistic that 2.8% of popular songs from the last 10 years were
produced by women and that 2.3% of the top 100 hits in 2022 were
produced by women.
- Bose has created a 60-second ad spot to
promote the new initiative and will also run digital and social media
campaigns around the initiative.
- Campaigns promoting gender
equality have become more popular amongst brands lately, including
Barcardi's marketing campaign, which also specifically looked to raise
awareness about the lack of women in music production.
