Currency Exchange Rates
The U.S. Dollar fell on Thursday after U.S. jobless claims came in higher than expected last week.
- The
Federal Reserve is widely expected to hike rates aggressively at its
next meeting, but the increase in jobless claims could prompt some
policymakers to call for a more moderate rate increase.
- Jobless claims for last week were 211,000 versus expectations of 195,000.
- The U.S. Dollar Index fell 0.39% and is currently at 105.25.
