Microsoft announces ChatGPT integration for Azure OpenAI

Microsoft has announced a new ChatGPT integration for its Azure OpenAI Cloud service.

The Azure OpenAI service enables developers to integrate AI-powered experiences directly into their own applications.

  • ChatGPT debuted in Nov. 2022 and is OpenAI’s language model chatbot trained to follow instructions promptly and provide a detailed response.
  • Microsoft had shared plans to add ChatGPT to its Azure OpenAI service in January.
  • According to a Microsoft blog post, customers can begin using ChatGPT today for $0.002/1000 tokens, which corresponds to approximately 750 words. Billing goes into effect starting March 13.
  • While rapid AI adoption has posed a challenge for numerous cloud providers, including AWS, Microsoft says it has been following a strategic blueprint developed with years of anticipation.
