Microsoft is adding an AI image creator to its new Bing search engine and Edge browser.
Bing Image Creator is based on an "advanced version" of OpenAI's DALL-E digital image generator.
- Users with access to the AI-powered Bing preview will be able to generate their own personalized images by typing in text descriptions in the chat bar.
- The
technology lets users create an image by describing what they want to
see in their own words, Microsoft executive Yusuf Mehdi said in a blog post.
- Bing and Edge users will now be able to create both visual and written content directly within the chat interface.
- In Bing preview, the image generator will be integrated fully into the search engine's chat in "creative" mode.
- In the Edge browser, a new icon will appear in the sidebar for creating images from text prompts.
- Mehdi
said OpenAI's safeguards and added protections were added to the
technology, including the ability to block the creation of unsafe and
harmful images.
