According to a new report from Bloomberg, Netflix's ad tier hit 1 million monthly active users in the US after around two months online.
According to data from New Antenna, sign-ups for Netflix's ad-supported plan jumped from 9% of all new users to 19% in January, after launching in November 2022.
- Netflix's
ad-supported tier has now jumped ahead of its next lowest-cost plan,
the Basic tier, but still trails the Standard and Premium subscription
levels.
- Netflix's ad-supported plan showed slower initial
growth than similar offerings from HBO Max and Disney+ in their first
few months.
- According to a report last week from Digiday, Netflix is reconsidering its overall ad strategy and may ultimately step away from its current ad partnership with Microsoft.
