On Monday, The Daily Mail published
photos taken from the set of Netflix's "The Crown," showing a
recreation of the destroyed vehicle in which Princess Diana was killed.
The photos have generated controversy
and criticism in the UK, to the point that The Daily Beast predicts
Prince Harry may be called on to step away from his overall deal with
the streamer.
- Netflix has indicated that the car crash that killed Diana would not be directly featured on-screen.
- The
photos, taken at London's Elstree Studios, apparently come from a
sequence in which Diana's wrecked car is being examined by
investigators.
- The events surrounding the crash will be depicted in "The Crown" series finale.
- In 2021, Harry told late-night talk show host James Corden that he's comfortable with "The Crown," while noting that it's "obviously fiction" and "not strictly accurate."
