U.K.'s CMA releases new report on Microsoft-Activision deal

 

Google Cloud has announced several new enhancements to its fully-managed relational database known as ‘Cloud Spanner.’   The new regional and multi-regional capabilities enable higher performance, lower latency, and greater scalability.  Cloud Spanner now includes configurable read-only replicas, zero-downtime instance move service, and lower-cost options. The newly added configurable read-only replicas allow users to add read-only replicas to any regional or multi-regional Spanner instance, thus providing lower latency to clients in a range of global locations.  Spanner’s zero-downtime instance move service lets users migrate their production Spanner instances from one configuration to another in real time.     Google Cloud has also announced lower-cost options for global 9-replica Spanner multi-regional configurations in North America, Europe, and Asia.
