Al Rajhi Bank has selected Amazon Web Services (AWS) to be the sole cloud provider for its digital bank Rize.
The bank is aiming to complete its full cloud migration by 2026.
- Founded in 1957, Al Rajhi is one of the largest Islamic banks in the world.
- In 2022, Al Rajhi launched Rize, a fully digital bank aimed at customers in Malaysia.
- Al
Rajhi will leverage a range of AWS products and services, including
containers, databases, and computing, to provide modernized financial
services via a smartphone app.
- The
bank will also use the Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS)
to develop digital banking products and Amazon Dynamo DB, an open-source
cloud database service, to deliver more personalized offerings.
- AWS plans to invest $6B in Malaysia from now until 2037.
