Amazon's $1B Industrial Innovation Fund invested in Robotics safety company Veo.
The e-commerce giant continues to increase its presence in robotic automation following its 2012 acquisition of Kiva Systems.
Veo specializes in developing software solutions that make it easier and safer for humans to coexist with robots in the same working space.
- The company recently announced that it raised a $29M Series B round.
- The funding round's participants included Safar Partners, Yamaha Motor Ventures, and Amazon's Industrial Innovation Fund.
- Veo said that the new funding will be used to accelerate its work with its "corporate partners."
- The investment may indicate that Amazon plans to begin piloting Veo's technology in its own logistics facilities, reports TechCrunch.
