Amazon ordered two seasons for a drama series set in the world of ballet, from "Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" collaborators Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino.
The series, titled "Étoile," is set in both New York and Paris, and centers on two ballet companies that swap dancers.
The cast includes Luke Kirby, Gideon Glick, Camille Cottin, Simon Callow, and Lou de Laâge.
- Both Kirby and Glick currently appear on "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel"; Kirby has been nominated for two Emmys for his supporting role as real-life comedian Lenny Bruce.
- "Maisel" was also originally picked up for two seasons; it was Amazon's first-ever multi-season order for a new series.
- Amy Sherman-Palladino previously co-created the Freeform series "Bunheads," which was also set in the world of ballet.
