Plans are underway for President Joe Biden to announce his re-election bid.
A
campaign-style video would be released on Tuesday to announce that
Biden will join the presidential race, sources familiar with the plans
told The Washington Post.
- White House
advisers say the timing could change but Democratic officials believe
that Biden should make an announcement soon to help unite the party.
- This would also kickstart a fundraising campaign to finance Biden's run.
- However, an early announcement will make Biden the target of Republican Presidential hopefuls, sources said.
- Author Marianne Williamson and lawyer Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. have already announced their candidacies for the Democratic bid.
- Former
President Donald Trump, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley,
entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, and former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson
are officially running for the Republican nomination.
- Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and South Carolina Senator Tim Scott are expected to join the GOP race.
