Disney layoffs

 

Disney started its second and largest wave of layoffs on Monday.   The company will cut around 4,000 jobs this week, out of a total of 7,000 planned layoffs for the year. According to a memo from co-chairman Alan Bergman and Dana Walden, impacted workers will be notified some time before Thursday. A third and final round of layoffs are scheduled for the start of summer. This round of cuts will come from the company's Entertaiment, ESPN, and Parks divisions, though they will not include front-line workers at the company's theme parks. The cuts are part of an overall plan to save the company $5.5 billion in total costs.
