FanDuel is deep fake technology

 


FanDuel has used deep fake technology to bring back former NBA player Charles Barkley from his prime in a new ad campaign ahead.

 FanDuel is using nostalgia to attract basketball fans to the platform.

The advertisement was launched in time with the start of the NBA playoffs, when interest in the sport will be highest. 

  • The ads started to air during the play-in tournament and will continue to run until the conference finals. 
  • The use of deep fake technology has been controversial, with concerns around disinformation and deep fake pornography.
  • This campaign follows FanDuel’s recent successful Super Bowl commercial, which featured five-time NFL Pro Bowler Rob “Gronk” Gronkowski.
